It has been a few years since our New Members' Handbook has been updated. This is a fantastic resource for people new to Trinidad, giving information on a host of local services, shops, medical facilities etc.

Lorenza has just informed me that our speaker for the April meeting will be Gerard 'Jerry' Besson, the well renowned publisher and historian. Come along this Thursday to the Cascadia to share his experiences.
Bring the family, a picnic basket and your camera and come and enjoy the peacefulness and birdsong of the country. Artists and photographers are welcome to enjoy the beauty of the garden. Raku pottery and plants will be on sale. Please see map for directions on our website: www.ajoupapottery.com. Time: Sunday May 1st from 9 am.
Bunty & Rory O'Connor Check out the great article in this week's Newsday. Thanks to Babsie Gregoire for creating the article and getting into the media!
Photos by Rachel Lee Young. Don't forget the UKWC monthly meeting this coming Thursday, 14th April at the Cascadia hotel. Come and meet old and new friends over a cup of coffee.
After the meeting Ruth Dennis has organised a delicious St George's Day lunch at the Normandie Hotel. If you would like to come along to this but haven't yet reserved your place, please contact us as soon as possible. Our tireless Pub Quiz team are revving up for this year's Pub Quiz, where we will drink a toast to the happy Royal couple on their wedding day.
Tickets are now on sale from Carolyn 461-0205 - they are selling like hot cakes and are strictly limited. After some years of neglecting our web presence, the UKWC are finally getting our message out again. Thanks to Linda Hayton for gearing us into action. It's early days yet and we have some strategic thinking to do about how we want to present ourselves on the site, but at least we now have a presence!
We welcome comments from members and friends: compliments, suggestions, constructive critism are all welcome. You can email comments to me or complete the contact form on the website. Comments on these blog posts can be added below... If you have something you would like to post on the blog or include in the website under events, fundraising, welfare etc, please send it to me. Looking forward to some lively discussions with you! Rachel |
