Providing Friendship and Service in Trinidad for 50 years
The UK Women's Club of Trinidad and Tobago operated for 52 years from 1967 to 2019 offering friendship and service to its members and to those less fortunate in Trinidad and Tobago. In April 2019 a resolution was passed to dissolve the UKWC due to declining membership and lack of support for the activities of the Club.
Many members and past members wished to continue being able to to keep in touch and meet socially, so an informal social group has been established.
Our members are women with origins in the UK either by birth or by marriage, together with Trinidadians and women of other nationalities looking for friendship and networking opportunities in Trinidad and Tobago. Our members are both young and old, short- and long-term residents of Trinidad and Tobago
A schedule of informal gatherings is being formulated within the group and it is hoped that we will meet at least every two months for a meet and greet, with occasional social outings, tours, and fundraising activities being planned going forward, depending on having volunteers to organise the events.
You can get in touch using the Contact Us form for more information. You can also join our Facebook group: UKWC of Trinidad and Tobago.
If you are new to Trinidad and would like to get in touch with a friendly face who can help get you oriented, our Link Ladies will be only too pleased to help. Contact us and we will be happy to put you in touch with a lady in your area. If you would like to find out about services and activities in Trinidad, our Newcomers' Handbook is full of useful information.
We are looking forward to meeting you!
